is a flickering electric blue thought
on the dying breath and vaulted hush
of a late summer dusk
whose bleeding crimson sun
pursues the last spiraling wisp
of a random notion
a path not taken
the road diverged
and followed here
twirling in silence
our thoughts
carving dark rivers in the earth
infinite chains of black water
roar surging past
hidden from the light
mocking me
and my hubris
that I would recapture
the whispers
of a lost moment
gone past remembering
