| On September 11, 2001, two planes were hijacked
out of Boston and flown into the twin towers of the World Trade Center in
New York, eventually destroying them and killing everyone inside. A third
plane was hijacked and flown into the Pentagon in Washington, DC. Yet a fourth
was hijacked, destination unknown, but thanks to the heroism of some of the
passengers was brought down and crashed outside of Pittsburgh.
If the Kennedy assassinations were the defining moments of the previous generation, the horrible images that were burned into our minds this week will surely define ours. It seemed important to keep a record of what we thought and how we felt at the time, especially as a community who lived through it and reacted in horror together as we, unbelieving, watched it unfold. Here are our stories. |
